Plan B and some other late arriving Martinique Pics

Sargassum algae has invaded many of the Caribbean Islands.  The algae pools in the sea and gives off a stench that is intolerable.  When we arrived at Cap Chevalier we could detect it before the parking lot.  An 1/4 mile up the road it could be seen some 100 yard off shore.

When we reached the parking lot there were 5 cars parked.  Normal amount would be between 100-200. While hugely disappointing, it required little effort to do an immediate u-turn.  We traveled back up N5 through Marin and just past St. Luce.  There are several nice beaches that run along the coast. We found a nice little one with 50 or so beach goers and settled in for a nice day.

Last year the current took Susan's fins 'out of her hands' and out to sea.  This year it was the red plastic noodle that got swallowed up the 'hungry sea'.

These pics are from the excellent Thai restaurant in Trois Islet's Pottery Village.  Our friend 'Claude the Lizard' joined us for lunch.
